What sets the price of a voice over.

Six things decide the cost of a voice over. Tell us about your project, and you get one written quote that you approve before anything is recorded.

The six factors

  1. 01

    Length

The word count or running time of the finished audio. A short spot and a ninety-minute course are priced very differently.

  2. 02

    Language and voice

Some languages and voice profiles are scarcer than others, and a voice with a distinctive sound is booked differently from a general one.

  3. 03

    Usage

Where the audio will be heard (internal, online, broadcast), in which territories and for how long. A voice actor is paid for the recording and for how it is used.

  4. 04

    Sync to picture

Recording to timecode or matching on-screen action takes longer than a read with no picture to follow.

  5. 05

    Number of voices and versions

Several characters, alternate reads, cut-downs and extra languages each add recording and checking time.

  6. 06

    File preparation and speed

Splitting, naming and formats for each delivery, and a deadline that needs extra capacity, are part of the price.

We do not publish a price list, because the same script costs different amounts depending on these six factors. The quote shows each one, so you see what you are paying for.

What every quote includes

Questions about cost?

Send us your script or an outline and we reply with a quote.

How much does a voice over cost?

It depends on the length, the language, how the audio will be used and what you need delivered. Send us the script or an outline and we reply with a written quote that sets all of it out.

Why does usage change the price?

A recording used internally is not the same as one broadcast across several countries. The quote states the media, the territories and the period, so you know what you are cleared for.

Is there a minimum order?

Tell us what you are making and we confirm in the quote whether anything applies to your project.

Does the quote include editing and checks?

Yes. Casting, a directed session, editing, word-by-word and technical checks, and delivery to your specification are part of every quote.

What if I only have a draft script?

A draft, an outline or a word count is enough for a quote. We confirm the final price when the script is final.

Will there be extra charges later?

The quote lists what is included. If your scope changes, we tell you before any work is added and you approve it first.

Ready when your script is.
