What Argentine Spanish voice-over is hired for

  • Argentina

Buenos Aires speech is the broadcast reference, and local listeners notice a neutral or foreign voice at once.

  • Uruguay

Uruguayan and Argentine speech share the Rioplatense features, so one voice can often serve both with a script check.

  • Regional Latin American versions

Argentine voices are also cast for characters and brands that want the Rioplatense flavour.

Typical projects

  • Brands advertising in Argentina
  • Platforms localising apps and tutorials for the Río de la Plata
  • Studios casting character and dubbing work
  • Banks and telecoms with customer-facing audio

Accent and direction notes

What our director listens for in a Argentine Spanish session.

  1. Voseo

Argentine speakers use vos with its own verb forms, for example vos tenés, instead of tú tienes. Scripts written in tú need adapting.

  2. The sh-like ll and y

In Buenos Aires, ll and y are said as a sh- or zh-like sound. It is the quickest marker of Rioplatense speech.

  3. Intonation

Rioplatense intonation is often described as close to Italian because of historic immigration. Copy written for other markets can sound flat in it.

What casting decides in Argentine Spanish

  • Neutral or Rioplatense

A neutral voice avoids the sh sound and voseo and travels widely. Argentine campaigns normally want the local read.

  • Formal or familiar

Banks and public services lean to usted, retail to vos. The address form sets the voice.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.

Argentine Spanish voice-over questions

Can I use a neutral Spanish voice for Argentina?

Listeners will understand it, but a neutral voice does not use voseo or the local sounds, and local campaigns can feel generic. We recommend a local voice for customer-facing work.

Is Uruguayan Spanish the same?

Very close: both are Rioplatense. We check the script for country-specific words before recording.

Do you adapt a Spain script to Argentine usage?

We list the forms that change, such as vosotros and several everyday words, and you approve the revised script.
