Balearic Catalan in a voice-over brief
Balearic Catalan is the variety spoken on Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. It has its own vowel system and vocabulary, and traditionally uses the articles es, sa and ses, which have faded in written material. Tourism is the main industry, which means many messages run in several languages. A brief states the island, the register and whether to use the local articles.
Accent and direction notes
What our director listens for in a Balearic Catalan session.
Balearic article
Many islanders use the articles es, sa and ses instead of el and la. Scripts decide whether to use them.

The sound differs from Central Catalan.
Own vocabulary
Words differ from the mainland.
What casting decides in Balearic Catalan
Balearic or standard Catalan
Local ads sound closer with Balearic; general copy can use standard.
Island
We cast by island.
How we work
Casting
We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.
Direction
A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.
Delivery
Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.
What decides the price
No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.
