Georgian in a voice-over brief

Georgian uses its own alphabet, which has been in continuous use for many centuries. It has consonant clusters that are demanding for non-native speakers and a verb system in which one word can carry the subject, object and tense. Tourism and finance are active sectors. A brief states the audience, the register and whether English will be recorded alongside.

Accent and direction notes

What our director listens for in a Georgian session.

  1. A unique alphabet

Georgian has its own script, so scripts arrive in Georgian letters and must be proofed by a native reader.

  2. Consonant clusters

Words with several consonants in a row need a clear, unhurried read.

  3. Verb agreement

Verbs agree with several parts of the sentence, so machine-translated scripts often sound wrong.

What casting decides in Georgian

  • Georgian or English

    Tourism often needs both.

  • Register

    Public notices are formal.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.
