Lingala in a voice-over brief

Lingala grew as a trade and river language and is now the everyday language of Kinshasa and Brazzaville and of much Congolese music and radio. Speakers move easily between Lingala and French, so a script has to decide where one stops and the other starts. Words and phrases change with the city and the generation, and a voice that sounds right in Kinshasa may feel foreign elsewhere. For a recording we agree the register with you, collect the French terms that stay unchanged, and confirm which voices are available before we send a quote.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.

Use and territory
