Wolof in a voice-over brief

Wolof is the lingua franca of Senegal and is also spoken in the Gambia and Mauritania. In cities such as Dakar it is mixed freely with French, and the mixture changes with age and neighbourhood. Wolof is written in Latin letters and, historically, in an Arabic-based script called Wolofal. It has a strong radio tradition, so listeners expect a natural, conversational delivery. We ask the audience and medium, agree which French words remain and check the text with a native reader.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price
