Luganda in a voice-over brief

Luganda is the language of the Baganda people and the main language of Kampala and central Uganda. Like other Bantu languages it uses prefixes that agree across a sentence, and vowel length can change the meaning of a word. Many Ugandans move between Luganda, English and sometimes Swahili in a single conversation, so scripts need a clear rule about which language each phrase uses. We ask where the audience is, which medium the piece is for and whether any terms, such as mobile money services, are better left in English.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.
