Sesotho in a voice-over brief

Sesotho, or Southern Sotho, is a tonal Bantu language written in Latin letters and shared by Lesotho and the Free State of South Africa. Words take prefixes that agree across a clause, and a number of Sesotho names for places and people are well known abroad through music and sport. Orthography reforms in each country left small differences in spelling. When a Sesotho brief arrives we ask which side of the border the listeners are on, whether the message is formal or friendly and which English words stay, and only then confirm who is available to record.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.

Length
Word count or running time of the finished audio.
Use and territory
Internal, online or broadcast; where it runs and for how long.
Voice
Some languages and voice profiles are scarcer than others.
