Faroese in a voice-over brief

Faroese is a West Nordic language close to Icelandic in writing, though speakers find the spoken forms differ. About a third of its everyday vocabulary has to be coined or adapted for new concepts. The islands are bilingual with Danish. Public information, education and cultural programmes are typical uses. The pool of voices is small, so we confirm availability first and agree a register and pronunciation list.

Few professional speakers exist, so availability is confirmed before quoting.

  2. Related to Icelandic

  3. Danish nearby

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.
