Lao in a voice-over brief

Lao is the national language of Laos and is written in its own script. It is tonal, with distinct tones that change word meaning, and it is close enough to Thai that many Lao and Thai speakers understand each other, though the two are separate languages with different spelling. Tourism, development programmes and telecoms are typical clients. A brief should name the audience, the register and whether English or Thai versions are needed. Native review checks tones and spelling before recording.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.
