Oromo in a voice-over brief

Oromo, called Afaan Oromoo by its speakers, is written in Latin letters using a standard alphabet adopted in Ethiopia. It has long and short vowels and doubled consonants that change meaning, which a script must show clearly. It is spoken across a large part of Ethiopia and in northern Kenya, with regional varieties that listeners recognise. A good brief says where the audience lives, whether the piece is radio, health information or advertising, and whether Amharic will be recorded alongside it, because many campaigns in the region run in both.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.
