Tajik in a voice-over brief

Tajik is a Persian language written in Cyrillic in Tajikistan, with a vocabulary that has absorbed Russian and Uzbek words. It differs from Iranian Persian and Afghan Dari in pronunciation and in script. Public health and development messaging are common uses. A brief states whether the audience is in Tajikistan or elsewhere, the script and the register.

Accent and direction notes

What our director listens for in a Tajik session.

  1. A Persian language in Cyrillic

Tajik is close to Persian but written in Cyrillic, with its own vocabulary.

  2. Russian influence

    Loanwords from Russian are common.

  3. Left to right

Unlike Persian, Tajik is written left to right.

What casting decides in Tajik

  • Tajik or Persian

Audiences in Iran and Afghanistan hear different standards.

  • Register

    Public information is formal.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.
