Pashto in a voice-over brief

Pashto is an Iranian language written in an Arabic-based script and spoken in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Its northern and southern varieties differ in several consonants, and the choice affects which listeners feel addressed. Radio is a central medium for public information. A brief states the dialect, the country, the register and whether Dari or Urdu versions are needed, and a native reviewer checks the script.

Accent and direction notes

What our director listens for in a Pashto session.

  1. Two dialect groups

Northern and southern Pashto differ in sound. The brief names the audience.

  2. Right-to-left script

    Scripts run right to left.

  3. Sounds absent in other languages

Some consonants need a native speaker.

What casting decides in Pashto

  • Afghanistan or Pakistan

    References and accents differ.

  • Register

    Health information is plain.

How we work

  1. Casting

We shortlist voices for your language, audience and tone, and explain the difference between them. You choose, and approve a written quote.

  2. Direction

A director runs the session against your brief: meaning, pace and every agreed pronunciation. You can listen in remotely.

  3. Delivery

Every file is checked against the script word by word and technically, then delivered in your format and naming.

What decides the price

No price list: every quote is written for your project and states usage and the delivery date.

Use and territory
