London voice over talent

London is the centre of the British voice industry, which makes it an odd entry in a list of accents. People move to London from everywhere, so London-based talent between them cover every British accent there is. Booking a London voice does not mean booking a London accent.

When clients do want the sound of London specifically, they usually mean one of two things: Estuary, the softened South East accent that has become the default for contemporary British advertising, or a more distinctly urban London voice, which reads as young, energetic and unpolished.

Estuary as the modern default

If you are unsure what to brief for a UK campaign, Estuary is usually the safest starting point. It reads as contemporary and approachable without being tied to a specific region, and it avoids the distance that Received Pronunciation can create with a younger audience. We will send demos across a range so you can hear the difference rather than take our word for it.

Working across time zones

London sits conveniently for both European and North American clients, overlapping with most of Europe through the day and with the US East Coast in the afternoon. For urgent bookings that matters: a script sent in the morning is usually recorded, checked and delivered the same day.

Usage and clearance

UK broadcast usage is priced separately from the recording. We quote it upfront by term, territory and media, so you know what you are cleared for before anything is booked.
