Get StartedTrailer work is a specialism, not a variation on commercial reads. A trailer is built as an escalation: setup, complication, acceleration, hard stop. The voice has to sit inside that structure, matching the energy of the cut beat for beat, then land the title card.
Voices that are excellent elsewhere often cannot do this. It requires an unusual combination of weight, control at low volume and the ability to build across a two-minute arc without peaking early.
Trailers are almost always cut before the voice is recorded, so we record to picture. That means the read is shaped around the music stabs, cuts and silences that already exist. We ask for the cut with a temp track wherever possible, because the music dictates the pacing far more than the script does.
Trailer campaigns rarely use one version. There are usually cut-downs at 60, 30 and 15 seconds, plus regional variants, ratings cards and platform-specific tags. We record the alternates in the same session, which is far cheaper than booking the talent again and guarantees they match.
Trailer voice conventions differ sharply by market. What sounds authoritative in one territory sounds overblown in another, and the trailer voice tradition is much stronger in some languages than others. We cast to local convention rather than replicating the English read, and adapt the copy to fit the same picture timings.
