What online advertising voice over involves

Online video advertising follows different rules from broadcast. A large share of feed-based video is watched muted, so the voice over is not carrying the message on its own, it is rewarding the people who turn the sound on. That means the read has to add something the captions do not.

Formats are also brutally short. Six-second bumpers, five-second skippable openings, fifteen-second social cuts. The proposition has to arrive almost immediately, which changes both the writing and the read.

What we cover

  • YouTube pre-roll, bumpers and skippable formats
  • Meta, TikTok and paid social video
  • Programmatic and display video
  • Performance creative and direct response
  • App install and retargeting campaigns

Built for testing

Performance marketing runs on variants. You are not producing one advert, you are producing eight and letting the data choose. Booking talent separately for each is slow and expensive, and the versions never quite match.

We record all your variants in a single session: different hooks, different offers, different calls to action, different energy levels on the same script. You get a full test set that is directly comparable, because the only thing that changed is the variable you are testing.

Sound-off first, sound-on better

We recommend writing so the video works muted and the voice over adds a layer rather than duplicating the on-screen text word for word. If you send us the cut with the captions, we will flag where the voice is simply repeating what is already written.

Scaling across markets

Paid campaigns that work in one market are usually rolled out to others quickly. We cast native voices per market and adapt the hook rather than translating it, since the opening line is the one that has to survive contact with a local audience.

Send the scripts or variants and we will quote the full set.
